Thanks to Theo, we found a great site called “Booksie.” As we have just finished up a draft of our fictional narratives and are starting a revision process, it’s good to think about where to publish those stories.
Booksie is a site focused on self-publishing of all sorts. You need to be 13 years old, so best to do with a parent. You can tag your writing, get comments and continuously upload writing. It’s nice to see your work in print.
We have sent our stories to the Dwight School in New York City for comments. Earlier this fall, we commented on their stories, and now it’s our turn to send them. Students helped identify what they needed to work on and left a comment on their place.
If you’d like to have a look at the students’ work, here are their drafts. Remember, they are drafts and still need refining: content editing, sentence editing and proofreading. They are open for comments, so leave a comment if you’d like: something the student has done well, and something they need to work on.
